I thought I'd give everyone a little break from Y seams today.
Here is one that I paper pieced.
These fabric cutting instructions are oversized for Paper Piecing: from print fabric cut: (4) 2” squares cut once on the diagonal to yield 8 triangles. (note that these are for the geese sections) cut (2) 2-3/4” squares cut twice on the diagonal to yield 8 triangles. From background cut: (2) 2-3/4” squares cut twice on the diagonal to yield 8 triangles,(5) 1-3/4” squares,(2) 3-1/2” squares cut once on the diagonal (for outside corners)
Piece all of your paper sections first - including your double flying geese units and triangle tipped square units.
Assemble the center portion of this block as you would a 9 patch.
Add the 4 outside triangles to create Square in square borders.
Trim block to 5”.

thanks for the tutorial, that finishes row A !
ReplyDeleteYay! You posted a block that I already have done. AND I've completed two others, K-5 and J-12. I'm on a roll again :) As always, thanks for your helpful tutorials.
